Nicole grew up in small town Ellendale, North Dakota, later attending college in Bismarck at the University of Mary to obtain her undergraduate degree in Radiology. Nicole was accepted into the Echocardiography Program at Mayo, Rochester in the spring of 2001. While studying and working at Mayo, Nicole received extensive training and experience in Cardiac Ultrasound or Echocardiography. In 2003, she moved with her family to Rapid City and joined The Heart Doctors, working as a full time echocardiographer and vascular technologist for the next 6 years.
Black Hills Ultrasound was founded in 2009 as a mobile company primarily providing echocardiography and vascular ultrasound services to rural community hospitals throughout the Black Hills Region. Nicole stayed on part time at The Heart and Vascular Institute while providing mobile imaging for Black Hills Ultrasound. Over the next several years, General and OB/GYN services were added to our mobile ultrasound division. In 2013 Black Hills Ultrasound partnered with Black Hills Surgical Hospital to provide advanced ultrasound imaging to the local residents of Rapid City through Black Hills Imaging Center.
“It has been a dream of a lifetime to serve the communities of our region with the skill and knowledge that I was privileged to obtain while at Mayo Rochester. Increased access to high quality ultrasound imaging in the rural setting has been the goal since day one.”
In her free time, Nicole enjoys following her three kids’ sporting events and activities. She enjoys spending time in the great outdoors hiking, biking, trail running, swimming or just exploring the many beautiful areas we are lucky to have so close to home.
